
The Reis-Nichols Company is very pleased to offer our associates a comprehensive benefit and leave program that includes a health, dental, and vision plan; a prescription drug card; short- and long-term disability insurance; a 401k retirement plan; a flexible spending account; and life insurance. To assist employees with the cost of insurance for themselves and their families the Company shares or, in some instances, offers the benefit at no cost to the employee.
The Company is intent upon delivering a benefit program that meets or exceeds that offered in the retail jewelry industry. The Company regularly reviews the various components of the program to ensure that it is competitive, cost effective and meets the needs of our associates.
Following is a summary of some of the major components of the benefit and leave programs.
Health Insurance
The Reis-Nichols Health plan offers a choice between two different types of coverage. We offer a traditional PPO plan that offers provider discounts, co-pays for many services as well as co-pays for prescription drugs. We also offer a High Deductible Health Plan with a Health Saving Account. This plan offers provider discounts, a lower annual out-of-pocket limit, lower emplyee contributions as well as the ability to use tax-free money to pay for qualifified expenses. The Company shares the cost for employee and dependant premiums in both plans.
Dental Insurance
Coverage includes routine, preventive, and major care as well as orthodontia coverage. The Company shares the premiums for both employee and dependent coverage. Employees also have the option to use network providers and receive discounts on services.
Vision Care Insurance
Benefits include annual eye examination and lenses. Eyeglass frames are provided every two years. A minimal co-pay is required. The Company shares the expense of this program for both employee and dependent coverage.
401k Retirement Plan
The Reis-Nichols-sponsored 401k plan enables employees to plan for their future by saving in a well-diversified plan with multiple fund options. The Company matches employee contribution to a specific maximum. All contributions are made with pre-tax dollars, thereby maximizing the contribution and reducing current tax burdens.
Disability Insurance
The Company offers both short- and long-term disability insurance to employees unable to work as a result of a non-work-related illness or injury. This benefit is offered to employee at no cost.
Life Insurance
All employees receive a term life insurance policy at no cost.
Flexible Spending Account
The company-sponsored Flexible Spending Account enable employees to pay for medical expense not covered by the health and dental plan and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars. The program enables employees to reduce their overall current tax burden and maximize the spending power of their dollars.
Paid Leave and Holidays
The Company recognizes the need for time away from the job. Once an employee has completed a full calendar year of service he or she receives two weeks of paid leave. The Company recognizes six holidays during the year and also offers four personal days of leave a year.
Jewelry and Watch Discounts
After 90 days of employment associates are eligible for generous discounts on fine watches and jewelry.
